Dr Stone qualified in medicine from Guy’s, King’s College & St Thomas’ Medical School in 2004 and is consultant with dual training in clinical infectious diseases medicine & laboratory microbiology.
Currently at University College Hospital & Hospital for Tropical Diseases, London, he has experience in treating a wide range of bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections as well as a particular interest in medical mycology.
Dr Stone studied & worked across the African continent gaining clinical experience in Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi & Nigeria. This has given him a wealth of experience in diagnosis & management of imported and tropical infections. He currently holds a post at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases as well as Honorary Assistant Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Dr Stone has an impressive research background which includes diagnosis and treatment of invasive fungal disease, antifungal resistance & fungal infections in the immunosuppressed.
