Dr Rasha Abdelsalam-Elshenawy

Dr. Rasha Abdelsalam-Elshenawy is a clinical pharmacist with 20 years of experience in pharmacy practice, development, antimicrobial stewardship, patient safety, and public health. Certified in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS), her career is distinguished by a steadfast commitment to optimising medicine use, ensuring patient safety, and fighting antimicrobial resistance (AMR). She possesses a two-year certification in teaching and learning and research methodology, which enhances her ability to educate healthcare professionals on best practices. Her leadership roles include developing a five-year AMS strategic plan, serving as the director of FADIC Antimicrobial Stewardship School, and contributing to the CDC AMR challenge. Motivated by a mission to mitigate the global AMR burden, she focuses on spearheading AMS initiatives, improving antibiotic prescribing practices, and strengthening education in public health. These efforts form part of her broader vision to improve patient outcomes and make a meaningful contribution to global health advancements.
