Katie Holgate

Katie Holgate: Katie has been qualified for 37 years with a wealth of experience across the board from Surgery, Gynaecology, Sexual Health, Neonates, and Nurse led services in an Outpatient setting. Latterly she was Matron in Surgery, Ambulatory Care and Elderly Services for 14 years before semi-retiring in 2019 and returning to set up OPAT services across the York and Scarborough Hospitals.
Initially working in Scarborough Katie developed teaching tools for patients and the district nursing teams and forged the way forward with clinicians and other MDT’s forging positive relationships and basically not taking NO for an answer. Katie has been an integral part of developing the OPAT service to what it is today.
She is hugely proud of her team and it’s ethos that is passionate about positive patient experience and an equitable service where everyone that should have OPAT can have OPAT.
