Dr Manu Shankar-Hari

NIHR Clinician Scientist; Reader in ICM, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College London

Manu, was appointed a faculty in Intensive Care Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK in 2009. Manu obtained his PhD from King’s College London, for his work on B cell abnormalities in sepsis and completed his formal training in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

In 2016, he was awarded the prestigious National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinician Scientist Award. Manu’s translational research programme, focuses on the epidemiology of short and longer-term outcomes and the adaptive immune system changes in adult critically ill patients with sepsis.
