Professor Laura Piddock

Professor of Microbiology, University of Birmingham. Director of Scientific Affairs, Global Antibiotic Research & Development Partnership (GARDP)

Laura Piddock is Professor of Microbiology at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her research focuses on multidrug efflux pumps, transmission of drug resistance between bacteria, and developing tools for drug discovery. She has published over 200 articles in international peer reviewed journals, and given over 200 symposium presentations at international conferences. Laura is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and a founding Fellow of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Since January 2018, Laura has been seconded to the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) as Director of Scientific Affairs.
