Mark Dayer is a consultant cardiologist specialising in heart failure and devices. He qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 1995 and did his Cardiology specialist training at the Brompton and Harefield hospitals, before taking up a consultant post in 2007 at Taunton. After NICE changed their guidance in 2007, and browsing the Sunday Times, where he read an article about DrFoster, he emailed them to ask for data about the number of patients discharged with endocarditis year on year. And one thing led to another. He now works in Dublin at the Mater Private Network and is an associate professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
