Professor Roman Kozlov is a Fellow of the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). He received both his PhD and DSc in Clinical Pharmacology and Microbiology at the Smolensk State Medical Academy in Smolensk, Russia. In 1996 he was awarded an MSc in Clinical Microbiology from the University of London and has been the recipient of several awards, including an ESCMID Award for Advances in Clinical Microbiology in 2005, Institute Merieux grant in 2011 and APUA Leadership Award in 2012. In 1995 and 2009, he was awarded grants from the President of the Russian Federation. Since 2015, he serves as a Chief Specialist of Ministry of Health of Russian Federation on Clinical Microbiology & Antimicrobial Resistance. In 2016 he was elected to Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) as a Corresponding Member.
