Professor Tom Rogers

Tom Rogers DMed, FRCPath, FRCPI, FECMM, is Emeritus Professor, Trinity College Dublin. He has been Consultant Microbiologist, most recently at St James’s Hospital Dublin, and prior to that at Hammersmith Hospital and at other hospitals in the Imperial group.

He has a longstanding interest in the development and clinical evaluation of diagnostic tests for invasive aspergillosis focused on immunocompromised patients, and has more recently investigated triazole resistance in Aspergillus fumigatus.

He is a past President of the Healthcare Infection Society, and of the British Society for Medical Mycology, and was founding President of the Irish Fungal Society. He continues as an active member of the Fungal PCR Initiative, and is currently chairing a HIS working group tasked with producing guidelines for prevention of healthcare associated aspergillosis.
