Stuart Brown

Stuart Brown is an antimicrobial pharmacist at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, bringing over a decade of hospital pharmacy experience to his work in antimicrobial stewardship. His focus is on optimising antibiotic use, improving patient safety, and addressing the escalating challenge of antimicrobial resistance across healthcare settings.

Stuart has held regional and national leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the North East Antimicrobial Stewardship Group, and has contributed to NHS England’s national and regional programmes on antimicrobial resistance and healthcare‑associated infections. A committed educator and speaker, he works closely with multidisciplinary teams and regularly presents on strategies to deliver safer, more effective antimicrobial practice.
